10 Dec What on earth is ministry?
What on earth is ministry? Ministry is stewardship. Simply, you are carrying out the orders of your superior. Ministry is not an idea or a feeling. It is carrying out a given task. You are harnessing divine resources to carry out divine assignments committed into your hands. It is not a dream or a trance. It is not a church title, or some leadership position conferred on you by man, it is not an organization or an association. It is a divine assignment handed down to a person by God. It is not limited to the pulpit, but it covers a wide area of human needs including social, moral, spiritual, physical, mental, financial, academic, marital and among many others.
God dispatches human agents by His Holy Spirit to stand in for Him and act on His behalf wherever divine intervention is needed for the gospel of His kingdom to be enhanced.
Many often get trapped in comparing themselves with others but have forgotten the need to discover their individuality and accept the corresponding responsibilities.
If you are genuinely born again, you are a carrier of the Kingdom of God on your inside (Luke 17:21). There has never been anyone like you. You are peculiar. You have access to the divine nature of God here on earth. If God has made you a “god” to Pharaoh, then that’s who you are to Pharaoh. You are in the class of Jesus…as my father has sent me, even so send I you (Jeremiah 20:21). It was said of Paul and Barnabas in Acts 14:11, the gods are come down to us in likeness of men. God says all His children are gods (Ps 82: 6). You are made to be distinguished. You belong to the upper class. You have unusual grace and impeccable abilities. You are a priest and a King and you must manifest your priesthood and kingly dominion here on earth…Every man hath a proper gift of God (1 Corinthians 7:7). This proper gift that is in you will make a proper placement for you. Jesus Christ has a task for you…for the works that I do ye do also and greater works than these shall ye do…John 14:12.
Do not despise yourself. Do not cross to someone else’s lane. Locate your calling and stay put there. This will launch you into a great future. Abiding in your calling leads to stardom and you are destined to be a star!
Our Lord Jesus Christ emphasized that a believer can be like God in character and in power. Our Lord went about doing good and healing all those who are oppressed of the devil, because God was with Him. We are set for greater works than Jesus (John 14:12).
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
The anointing is very important in a believer’s life. Every believer requires it for sustenance, performance, success, breakthrough and fulfillment. Nothing gets accomplished without it. It is an absolute necessity for a fruitful Christian living. Everything stays dormant without it. Your enthronement is not by power or might, but by the Spirit of the Lord. No king reigned in Israel without the anointing, likewise, no prophet can stand in his office without it. Therefore, two people may preach the same message but have different results. No matter your calling or area of service, the anointing of the Holy Ghost upon your life is the master key to fulfillment and accomplishment.
Anointing is for performances. No anointed man can retain the anointing without putting it to work. Lack of use results in decay, while active use results in maturity. If you go to sleep with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, it will also go to sleep in you. Jesus was anointed because he had a task to accomplish with the anointing. He was anointed for a mission. The anointing (which is the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer) makes it possible for the sons of God to manifest their sonship…and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing (Isaiah 10:27). Obstacles of your life must be cleared off. High mountains must be brought low. The Red Sea must pave way. The number of breakthroughs you experience in life is determined by the level of the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon your life.
