12 Dec Giving persuasive invitation to follow Jesus Christ
God intends preaching to be persuasive. The instruction to preach the Word in 2 Timothy 4: 2, comes with three commands that relates to persuasion, which are to “reprove, rebuke, and exhort.”
During the soul winning activities of GRA Mission Squad, GLOBAL all through this year and in particular, during the last month’s mighty harvest, we are helped by the Holy Spirit to call multitudes of people, out of darkness and sin into God’s marvelous light and love. God’s Spirit has chosen to work through GRA Mission Squad GLOBAL, a human instrument to preach and draw multitude to Jesus Christ, as He is lifted among them.
Jesus said, “Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matt. 11: 28 We do not need, a “I surrender all” music to be played with a pastor at the front of the altar before we offer invitation to the unsaved.
We bless the Lord for the salvation of souls from the beginning of the year 2019 to the end without gimmicky appeals, or emotional manipulation bordering on coercion.
This is far from perfunctory invitations that is always offered halfheartedly. The gospel that was delivered by the help of the Holy Spirit was soaked in God’s Word, with emphasis on Biblical contextualization with respect to the culture of the people groups. We were very clear about the salvation message focusing on how to trust Jesus for salvation and this has resulted into a holy and public opportunity for God’s people to cooperate with the Holy Spirit and the Lord proved Himself faithful by saving thousands of thousands of souls during the year 2019 through the instrumentality of GRA Mission Squad, GLOBAL.
